Kids Company www.kidsco.org.uk is a charity founded by Camila

support to vulnerable inner-city children and young people. The Tom ap Rhys
Pryce Memorial Trust helped to pay the salary of a new teacher working with
Kids Company on a special programme entitled:
PATH TO LIFE: EFFICIENT AND FUN LEARNING FOR LIFE - A learning programme developed by Kids Company
Path to Life is an educational programme created by Kids Company in order to meet the learning needs of young people who present with hyper-agitation, inability to concentrate and inconsistent life circumstances.
Kids Company, based on learning from young people, has developed an educational syllabus which is not dependent on accumulative learning tasks. The syllabus has 39 courses which are delivered individually within a time boundary of approximately one and half hours. Once the student has attended the 80 minute session and completed the learning task they will acquire a qualification in that module. A number of modules collected will lead to nationally recognised qualifications.
The syllabus addresses a wide range of subjects which are specifically selected to skill up the learner for personal life management. They are organised broadly under the following headings: Emotional Self Regulation, Managing Trauma, Physical Health, Skilled Relationships, Financial Literacy, Dealing with Crisis and Skilling up for Work.
Tom's Trust believes that an alternative education programme such as this the only way to reach children who have these learning difficulties, without which they might easily turn to a life of crime, in order to survive.
